The Night Dance Ceremony
We bow -
To the spirits of the Four Quarters
Seeking acceptance on their land,
To the Father and Mother that they may protect us,
To the Great Spirit for blessing.
We dance through the night in the Great Heart,
We lie in the Mother's embrace,
Reach out to the Father of Night and Stars,
While the Sacred Music swirls,
Yearning, broken hearted, for the Beloved.
The old wounds are opened,
Soul's blood pours out in tears.
Yet strong arms surround sobbing bodies,
And clear voices lead us to freedom,
And the healing balm of love.
Joy lies beyond the pain.
Hearts lie open as the Beloved enters,
And the blessing of the Great Spirit falls
Like gentle rain.
